BC Sustainable Energy Association presents:
Clean Energy from Wind Turbines: Planning, Developing, Financing & Maintenance of Wind Farms
What can BC learn from an experienced German developer

We have a special guest speaker this month: Hans-Detlef Feddersen is taking a break from his Canadian vacation schedule to visit the BCSEA!  Hans will talk about his experience planning, developing, financing and maintaining wind farms in rural Germany.

In 1991 Hans helped create Germany's first citizen owned wind farm (44 local shareholders) in Friedrich-Wilhelm-Lübke-Koog.  In 2002 and 2005 he found two other locally owned wind farms.  Altogether he is responsible for the planning, developing, permitting and financing for 25 operating turbines combining for 50 MW of power.

In the past few years he has expanded into the solar field and was a champion of Germany's national solar league "Solarbundesliga" for most installed solar panels in kW per inhabitant
